On the eve of Christmas Eve, Chelsey and James celebrated their wedding in true Winter Wedding style, alongside 125 of their friends and family, plus one very special guest!
The Love Story:
Aged just 16, Chelsey and James met at school and became great friends. James was harbouring a bit of a crush on Chelsey, but romance wasn’t on the cards until several years later when they reunited at a friends party in London. Under a year later, whilst on a Christmassy trip to Rome, James got down on one knee and popped the big question.
The Wedding Planning:
As a child, Chelsey had loved visiting the castle and having picnics in the grounds. She even said to her dad at just 7 years old “I am going to get married here one day!” But years passed, and Chelsey moved to the bright lights of London, and forgot all about her childhood dream .. That is until she found herself on the stand next to the Warwick Castle team at an exhibition!
Chelsey’s mum helped the couple organise the whole day, from start to finish. Chelsey, being an experienced Event Manager herself, found the whole planning process easy and stress-free – although her friends and family had some high expectations!
The Big Day:
Chelsey and James’ big day was definitely one to remember! Chelsey’s day didn’t quite start as expected, as she woke up having completely lost her voice! But thankfully even not being able to talk didn’t ruin the magic – which was perfectly captured by photographer Dave Perry.
After whispering their vows in the stunning surroundings of the Great Hall, Chelsey, James and their guests headed to the State Rooms for a champagne drinks reception complete with a trio of singers getting everybody into the festive spirit with Christmas songs.
And, to top things off, there was a very special VIP guest who arrived with a bag full of gifts for all the children! Ho ho ho!
The Christmas spirit continued in the Great Hall, with guests receiving personalised Christmas stockings filled with chocolate coins and Christmas gin, and Christmas colours reflected in both their stunning cake by Elite Cake Designs and floristry by Passion for Flowers.
The funniest bit? Much to Chelsey’s surprise, during James’ speech he stripped his dinner jacket off and turned around to reveal Chelsey’s face printed on his back!! Don’t think Chelsey will forget this moment in a hurry!
Enjoy the process. It is meant to be the best day of your life after all!
We just want to say a huge congratulations and thank you to Chelsey and James. Our whole team here at Warwick Castle thoroughly enjoyed planning and working with you, and the service staff who worked your wedding have all told us what a wonderful end to our Christmas Party season your big day was!
